Intervention Services
Do you think you know someone with an alcohol or drug problem? (Click Here)
Without some form of an intervention, most addicts are doomed to repeat an ever-worsening cycle. Although in some cases, the heartfelt pleas of the family are enough for the addict to realize that he/she needs to change, more often than not, some form of professional guidance is necessary.
An effective drug or alcohol intervention is not about "forcing your loved one into treatment", but helping you to change the way that you deal with his/her addiction. In other words, if you continue to keep treating your loved one the same way you always have, then they will continue to act and react in the same way they always have. But if you change, then so must they.
Jennifer Ginsberg, MSW, with over 15 years of experience in the field of addiction and recovery, is here to help guide you towards a different, more effective way of communicating with your loved one and facilitating the process of getting the help they need toward recovery
